GCSE Results 2026: Celebrating every result, every journey, every success.

21st August 2026

This week is all about celebrating Year 11 – and what a week it has been!

After two years of hard work, determination and more than a few moments of wondering what the future might hold, our pupils finally received their GCSE results. And there was plenty to celebrate.

An impressive 47% of all grades were awarded at 9–7, with particularly strong results across maths and the sciences.

There were some standout performances, too. Ben achieved an incredible grade 9 in every subject, alongside an A in Additional Maths, whilst Nalini  and Maria secured  clean sweeps of all grades 9-8.

Our Science pupils have given us even more reason to celebrate, with 80% of Physics grades, 73% of Chemistry grades and 68% of Biology grades awarded at 9- 7; this is a fantastic reflection of their hard work and the passion of our Science Department.

Head at St Margaret’s School, Ben Turner, commented on the students' success: “I am enormously proud of our Year 11 students. With 47% of grades awarded at 9 to 7, up from 43% last year, and more than 70% awarded at 9 to 6, these are strong results with a remarkable breadth of achievement behind them.

Today we celebrate students who achieved straight 9s and are pursuing the most academically ambitious pathways, alongside those whose exceptional progress and perseverance have opened doors to exciting vocational courses. Each represents a significant achievement, and each deserves to be celebrated.

That breadth reflects the diversity of St Margaret’s and demonstrates what a modern education should be. Education cannot be one size fits all. We know each child, recognise their individual strengths and remain equally ambitious for every one of them".

“Success here is not a single destination, but every student being challenged and supported to fulfil their own potential”

But results day is about so much more than numbers. It is about seeing pupils recognise just how far they have come, celebrating the challenges they have overcome and sharing in those brilliant moments with friends, teachers and families. Every result represents a different journey, and we are incredibly proud of every pupil in Year 11.

Congratulations, Year 11! You’ve done it. We’ve loved watching you grow, discover your strengths and rise to every challenge. Now it’s time for the next adventure.
