GCSE Results Day 2025: Celebrating Year 11 Success

22nd August 2025

GCSE Results Day is always a highlight, and this year our Year 11 students have given us so much to celebrate.

With 15% of all grades awarded at the top grade 9—a 7% increase on last year—and particular strength across the Sciences and Design Technology, these results reflect not only academic ability but also the dedication, perseverance, and character our students bring to every aspect of school life.

Some achievements stand out for their sheer brilliance. Freddie earned an incredible nine grade 9s and one grade 8. Sharing the moment with his mum, who was right by his side to collect his results, made the day even more memorable. His success is a testament to his hard work, focus, and the support that has surrounded him throughout his journey.

Academic Scholars Lily and Tara celebrated their GCSE results side by side, with Lily achieving seven grade 9s and two grade 8s, and Tara earning an exceptional sweep of grades 9–7. Their shared joy is a reminder of how strong friendships, and a supportive school community help all pupils flourish, both academically and personally.

Aiden’s story shows how talent and dedication can shine across multiple areas of life. A gifted clarinettist, as well as an Academic Scholar, he wowed the School last term with a flawless recital of Czardas by Vittorio Monti. Today, he celebrates a sweep of grades 9–7, including six grade 9s and an A in Additional Mathematics—proof that passion, perseverance and focus pay off in every arena.

GCSEs are not just an endpoint—they mark the start of new opportunities and adventures in learning. Liam and Sarah embody this next chapter. Classics Scholar and talented artist Liam earned three grade 9s and will go on to study Classics, Philosophy, and Art at A-Level. Sarah secured four grade 9s, including top marks in Computer Science and Latin, and will continue these subjects alongside Maths.

To all our Year 11 students, we are incredibly proud of what you have achieved. Your hard work, dedication, and resilience have truly shone through, and we look forward to seeing you embrace the challenges and opportunities ahead as you begin your A-Level journey.
