Sports Days 2024: Racing to Success

23rd July 2024

Even threatening grey skies and ominous weather forecasts weren't enough to dampen spirits, with the annual Sports Days turning out to be a resounding success. With some quick thinking rescheduling efforts, both our Junior and Senior School pupils were able to showcase their athletic talents and house pride in a day filled with excitement, competition and camaraderie.

Junior School: Fun-Filled Competition for All Ages

In the Junior School, from Reception to Year 6, the Sports Day was a delightful mix of fun and friendly competition. The youngest participants charmed everyone with their enthusiasm in events like the egg and spoon race, obstacle course, foam throwing, and long jump. Older students joined in these activities and also showcased their running abilities in various races, including the crowd-favorite sack race!

Senior School: A Display of Strength and Sportsmanship

The skies remained clear as competitors took to the track and field, participating in events such as the 80m hurdles, 100m, 200m, 800m, and the exhilarating Squadron relay. Field events included the shot put, discus, javelin, high jump, and long jump, each showcasing the skills and determination of our students. The field was awash with vibrant colours, from face and body paint, team shirts and house banners, it was almost impossible not to be caught up in an infectious spirit of sportsmanship. The day's events were a perfect blend of athleticism and entertainment, ensuring every pupil had a moment to shine and contribute to their House’s efforts in the race for the House Cup.
